EtherNet/IP
The native protocol for Allen-Bradley and Rockwell Automation ecosystems. Real-time I/O data from CompactLogix, ControlLogix, and PowerFlex drives.
How Flowstate Connects
EtherNet/IP (Industrial Protocol) runs CIP (Common Industrial Protocol) over standard Ethernet. Flowstate's edge nodes use an EtherNet/IP scanner to read tags directly from Rockwell PLCs and drives. Tag names are mapped to Sparkplug B metric paths, preserving your existing PLC tag naming structure in the Unified Namespace.
- 1Edge node connects to PLC/drive on your plant Ethernet network
- 2Read PLC tags directly — no ladder logic changes required
- 3Tag-based addressing (no register numbers to look up)
- 4Supports both implicit (real-time I/O) and explicit messaging
