What You Need

Cat6 Ethernet cableIncluded in kit
Flowstate CL260 edge nodeIncluded in kit

Customer provides:

  • Network access
  • Drive parameter access

Physical Connection

  1. 1

    Locate EtherNet/IP ports

The PowerFlex 525 has dual RJ45 EtherNet/IP ports on the front. Use either port (built-in switch for daisy-chaining).

  2. 2

    Connect Ethernet

Cat6 from either drive port to the Flowstate edge node.

  3. 3

    Set IP address

Use the HIM (Human Interface Module) or Connected Components Workbench: Parameter A103-A106 for IP, A107-A110 for subnet mask.

Machine Configuration

  1. 1

    Enable EtherNet/IP adapter

Parameter C156 = 1 (enable adapter). The drive automatically responds to implicit messaging.

  2. 2

    Configure assembly instances

Default input assembly (instance 101) provides speed feedback, current, status. Output assembly (instance 100) for control if needed.

Verification

  1. 1

    EtherNet/IP identity scan

The Flowstate edge node discovers the drive via EtherNet/IP identity broadcast. Verify product name shows 'PowerFlex 525'.

  2. 2

    Dashboard check

Drive metrics visible in Flowstate: speed, current, faults, temperature.

Available Metrics (8)

Output speed (Hz/RPM)
Output current (A)
Output voltage (V)
Fault code
Drive temperature (C)
DC bus voltage (V)
Power consumption (kW)
Elapsed run time (hours)
