Flowstate edge node

Customer provides:

  • PLC IP address and Modbus map
  • Process control documentation

Physical Connection

  1. 1

    Identify PLC/controller

Locate the pasteurizer's PLC or process controller. Most HTST systems use Allen-Bradley CompactLogix or Siemens S7-1200/1500.

  2. 2

    Connect to network

Connect the Flowstate edge node to the same network as the PLC. Use the OT network, not the IT network.

Machine Configuration

  1. 1

    Configure Modbus registers

Map the pasteurizer's critical process variables: product temp (holding tube), divert valve status, flow rate, holding time.

  2. 2

    Set polling interval

Process pasteurizers need 1-5 second polling for food safety compliance. Set the Modbus read node accordingly.

Verification

  1. 1

    Verify temperatures

Cross-reference Flowstate readings with the pasteurizer's local HMI display. Temperature must match within ±0.5°C for food safety.

Available Metrics (5)

Product temperature (°C)
Holding tube temp
Divert valve state
Flow rate (L/min)
CIP cycle status
