Physical Connection

  1. 1

    Locate the Ethernet port

On the back of the control cabinet, find the RJ45 Ethernet port labeled 'NET'.

All NGC-generation Haas controllers (2006+) have this port.

  2. 2

    Connect Ethernet cable

Run a Cat6 cable from the machine's NET port to the Flowstate edge node.

  3. 3

    Set machine IP

On the control, go to Settings > Network. Set a static IP in the 10.0.100.x range.

Example: 10.0.100.101 for the first machine.

Machine Configuration

  1. 1

    Enable MDC

Setting 143 (Machine Data Collection) = ON. This enables the MTConnect adapter.

  2. 2

    Verify MTConnect port

Default port is 5000. Verify with Setting 881 if available on your controller version.

Verification

  1. 1

    Ping the machine

From the edge node, ping the machine's IP. You should get a response in <1ms.

  2. 2

    Check MTConnect feed

Open a browser and navigate to http://<machine-ip>:5000/current. You should see XML with machine status.

  3. 3

    Verify in Flowstate

Within 60 seconds, the machine should appear in your Flowstate dashboard with status indicators.
