Locate the machine PLC Ethernet port
IMA packaging machines use Siemens or Allen-Bradley PLCs with Ethernet. Locate the CPU Ethernet port in the main control cabinet.

Connect to edge node
Cat6 from the PLC Ethernet port to the Flowstate edge node.

Configure PackML OPC-UA
IMA machines with PackML support expose standardized machine states (Stopped/Starting/Running/Completing/Aborted) via OPC-UA. Configure the OPC-UA server endpoint in the PLC project.
PackML state machine provides OEE calculation hooks: unit counter, reject counter, and machine state duration timestamps.

Read PackML state
Verify the OPC-UA namespace includes PackML standard nodes: UnitModeCurrentState, MachinePrimaryState, MachSpeed, ProdProcessedCount.
