What You Need
Customer provides:
- Press controller documentation
- OPC UA endpoint or Modbus register map
- Batch ID tag mapping
Physical Connection
- 1
Identify controller
Modern tablet presses have embedded HMI/PLCs (often Siemens or Beckhoff). Locate the network port on the controller.
- 2
Connect to OT network
Connect the Flowstate edge node to the press's OT network segment.
Machine Configuration
- 1
Configure protocol
If OPC UA: browse the node tree for turret speed, compression force, tablet weight, ejection force. If Modbus: map registers from press documentation.
- 2
Set batch context
Configure the production batch ID tag so each tablet batch is tracked separately for GMP compliance.
Verification
- 1
Verify during production run
Start a batch and verify compression force, tablet weight, and turret speed readings in Flowstate match the press HMI.
