Cat6 Ethernet cableIncluded in kit
Flowstate CL260 edge nodeIncluded in kit

Customer provides:

  • DigiSim parameter access
  • Network access

Physical Connection

  1. 1

    Locate PROFINET port

The Schuler DigiSim controller has a PROFINET IO port on the main control cabinet. Some models have dual ports for ring topology.

  2. 2

    Connect Ethernet

Cat6 from the PROFINET port to the Flowstate edge node.

  3. 3

    Set IP / device name

Use Siemens PRONETA or the Schuler HMI to assign a device name and IP address to the PROFINET device.

Machine Configuration

  1. 1

    Enable DigiSim data output

On the Schuler HMI: Settings > DigiSim > Data Export > enable press monitoring output. Select parameters: force, position, SPM, energy.

  2. 2

    Configure PROFINET cyclic data

Set the PROFINET IO module to output process data: slide position, press force, SPM, and energy per stroke. Typical cycle time: 4ms.

Verification

  1. 1

    PROFINET DCP scan

Run a DCP scan from the edge node. The press should appear with its configured device name.

  2. 2

    Run test cycle

Execute a press cycle and verify force curve, slide position, and energy data appear in Flowstate.
