What You Need

Cat6 Ethernet cableIncluded in kit
Flowstate CL260 edge nodeIncluded in kit
USB-to-RS485 adapter (Modbus RTU fallback only)

Customer provides:

  • Network access
  • Drive parameter access (password if set)

Physical Connection

  1. 1

    Locate PROFINET port

The G120 Control Unit (CU) has an RJ45 PROFINET port on the front. G120C models have a built-in 2-port switch.

  2. 2

    Connect Ethernet

Cat6 from the CU PROFINET port to the Flowstate edge node.

  3. 3

    Set IP address

    Use Siemens STARTER or BOP-2 panel: P0918 (IP byte 1), P0919 (byte 2), P0920 (byte 3), P0921 (byte 4).

For Modbus RTU fallback: connect RS-485 (terminals 14/15 on CU) to a USB-to-RS485 adapter on the edge node.

Machine Configuration

  1. 1

    Enable PROFINET

Set P2030 = 1 (PROFINET mode). Set device name via STARTER or DCP discovery.

  2. 2

    Configure process data

Standard telegram 1 provides speed setpoint/actual, current, status word. Set P0922 for telegram type.

Verification

  1. 1

    DCP discovery

Run a PROFINET DCP scan from the edge node. The G120 should appear with its configured device name.

  2. 2

    Verify data

Flowstate dashboard shows frequency, current, motor temperature, and fault codes.
