What You Need
Customer provides:
- TruConnect / Smart Factory Hub license
- Network access
- Trumpf service access for initial enablement
Physical Connection
- 1
Locate the machine control panel Ethernet port
Trumpf TruLaser machines have an RJ45 Ethernet port on the control cabinet. Newer machines with HMIC (Human Machine Interface Console) have multiple ports.
- 2
Connect to edge node
Cat6 from the machine Ethernet port to the Flowstate CL260 edge node.
Machine Configuration
- 1
Configure Trumpf OPC-UA
Trumpf's smart factory integration uses either TruConnect (legacy) or the Smart Factory Hub (2022+). Enable the OPC-UA server in the machine configuration menu.
Trumpf may require a service technician visit to enable the connectivity option on older machines.
- 2
Configure Flowstate OPC-UA client
Set the OPC-UA endpoint to opc.tcp://<machine-ip>:4840. Trumpf uses a proprietary namespace — the Flowstate integration template maps standard nodes.
Verification
- 1
Browse OPC-UA namespace
Connect to the OPC-UA endpoint and verify machine status, program name, and cutting parameters are accessible.
- 2
Dashboard check
Laser cutter appears in Flowstate with cutting status, power output, program name, and sheet processing data.
